Montenegro vs Poland

Montenegro sit 3 points behind tonight’s opponents Poland with 7 points; winning 2, drawing 1 and losing just 1 game so far. Manchester City vs Liverpool

Manchester City just suffered from a heart breaking loss against Monaco in mid-week that has had all to do with their poor defensive record as much as it has had to do with their offensive struggles. Manchester City know that now with only the domestic titles to focus on; they will have the entire team committed and will be more rested to try and lock up the 2nd spot in the table. Manchester City will rely heavily on the likes of Aguero, De Bruyne, Sane and Sterling who have been their lynchpins up front for most of the campaign and they will need to find the net against a leaky Liverpool side to try and take advantage. City however, can point to their own defensive struggles where they have conceded to Huddersfield, Monaco, Swansea, Tottenham, Burnley and even their loss on 31st December by a score of 1-0 against Liverpool as opportunities for them to turn around their game.

Bournemouth vs Swansea

Bournemouth come into this encounter in front of their home fans brimming of confidence after beating West Ham by a score of 3-2 in their last encounter, which has boosted them to 30 points and a 6 point gap v Hull City in the last relegation spot. They followed up that victory after a 1-1 draw against Manchester United; showcasing their great form thats coming into this. When we come into this tie; we are expecting more goals to flow because of the precarious nature of the situation. Leicester vs Sevilla

Leicester City had sacked their manager Claudio Ranieri after their last game against Sevilla losing 2-1; and since then have turned around their season a little winning 3-1 against Liverpool and 3-1 against Hull City to show that they have started playing open football again and are looking to find goals. Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez have come back to life and managed to score the goals that has helped them take those crucial 6 points to give them a temporary 3 point cushion with a game in hand to give them a breather in the Premier League. While Premier League survival is key; these Leicester players will come out and play open football with the aim of securing more money moves in the off season.

Lazio vs Torino

Lazio come into this encounter with a good run of form behind them with a 7 match unbeaten run looking to push on and need to push on for victory to maintain their chase for for the 3rd Champions League spot in Italy. Lazio’s wins in recent weeks have seen them beating Roma, Bologna, Inter, Pescara, Udinese and Empoli which are all teams on or around Torino. Lorient vs PSG

PSG must be distraught and Unai Emery can already smell his firing papers getting ready come the end of the season, if they do not win the Ligue 1 title. Results however have helped them where Nice have dropped points; and victory tonight can get PSG to within just 3 points of Monaco which will come down to the final few weeks of the season. PSG will look to Edinson Cavani, Angel Di Maria and Julian Draxler who are their front 3 to deliver the goals tonight to get this team back on the winning track. Except a lot of shuffling to happen with some of the back 4 going to be changed around to give the squad some freshness and clear minds at the back. PSG have had the best defense in the division conceding just 19 goals in 28 games so far this season.

They will be without the services of Falcao and Carillo, but otherwise should have a full fit squad to choose from with Germain and Mbappe starting up front and in good form with the goals.

In what is easily the tie of the round when the fixtures were announced, a strong scoring Lyon side welcome a free flowing Roma who have dominated this competition. Lyon will look to the Europa League as their only opportunity to grab a Champions League spot as they are going to land up no better than 4th in the table. Lyon will look to field a strong side led by the likes of Valbuena, Depay, Lacazette and Fekir up front. The 4 of them have been making it rain with a lot of goals this season, and that has helped them go on a 5 match unbeaten streak. That unbeaten streak has seen them net 21 goals in those 5 games. Defensively, however they have been shaky, conceding goals in 4 out of those 5 games coming into this tie. Prior to that they were extremely shaky losing 4 out of their 5 games.

Dortmund vs Benfica

Dortmund have it all to do when they entertain Benfica in the 2nd tie of this Champions League. Dortmund completely dominated the 1st leg away in Portugal; but faced a superb goalkeeper Ederson who kept out 6 shots on target while countless other charges to keep things in check. Dortmund since then have taken out all their frustration in preparation for this fixture smashing 12 goals in 3 games while conceding just 2; showcasing their readiness for this critical tie. Goals have come from all over the pitch led by Aubamayeng along with Demebele, Reus, Schurrle, Kagawa among the team who are furthest forward for them. They will have to however contend with absences to Rode, Reus, Gotze and Bender who are all out for an extended period of time. They will rely a lot on their home form where they have netted 41 goals in 17 home games this season in all competitions to help them get through.
