Lazio vs Torino

Lazio come into this encounter with a good run of form behind them with a 7 match unbeaten run looking to push on and need to push on for victory to maintain their chase for for the 3rd Champions League spot in Italy. Lorient vs PSG

PSG must be distraught and Unai Emery can already smell his firing papers getting ready come the end of the season, if they do not win the Ligue 1 title. Results however have helped them where Nice have dropped points; and victory tonight can get PSG to within just 3 points of Monaco which will come down to the final few weeks of the season. PSG will look to Edinson Cavani, Angel Di Maria and Julian Draxler who are their front 3 to deliver the goals tonight to get this team back on the winning track. Except a lot of shuffling to happen with some of the back 4 going to be changed around to give the squad some freshness and clear minds at the back. PSG have had the best defense in the division conceding just 19 goals in 28 games so far this season.

Monaco vs Bordeaux

Monaco will entertain Bordeaux in a critical encounter as Nice have dropped points last night which gives them a 2 point cushion with today’s game in hand while also having a 3 point lead ahead of PSG who are now shot of confidence, giving Monaco the driver’s seat for the Ligue 1 title. Monaco despite having one eye on the Champions League in mid-week know that they have lost only 1 game at home which was a 3-1 loss to Lyon, when they went down to 10 men. Monaco have scored 50 goals at home in 14 games, and 100% of their games have seen 3 goals in those matches. 82% of Monaco’s games across the season have seen over 2.5 goals, and they will probably even rotate a few players as they have to come back from a 2 goal deficit in their encounter against Man City, despite taking 3 away goals. They will be without the services of Falcao and Carillo, but otherwise should have a full fit squad to choose from with Germain and Mbappe starting up front and in good form with the goals.

Lyon vs Roma

In what is easily the tie of the round when the fixtures were announced, a strong scoring Lyon side welcome a free flowing Roma who have dominated this competition. Lyon will look to the Europa League as their only opportunity to grab a Champions League spot as they are going to land up no better than 4th in the table. Lyon will look to field a strong side led by the likes of Valbuena, Depay, Lacazette and Fekir up front. The 4 of them have been making it rain with a lot of goals this season, and that has helped them go on a 5 match unbeaten streak. That unbeaten streak has seen them net 21 goals in those 5 games. Defensively, however they have been shaky, conceding goals in 4 out of those 5 games coming into this tie. Prior to that they were extremely shaky losing 4 out of their 5 games.

Dortmund vs Benfica

Dortmund have it all to do when they entertain Benfica in the 2nd tie of this Champions League. Dortmund completely dominated the 1st leg away in Portugal; but faced a superb goalkeeper Ederson who kept out 6 shots on target while countless other charges to keep things in check. Dortmund since then have taken out all their frustration in preparation for this fixture smashing 12 goals in 3 games while conceding just 2; showcasing their readiness for this critical tie. Goals have come from all over the pitch led by Aubamayeng along with Demebele, Reus, Schurrle, Kagawa among the team who are furthest forward for them. They will have to however contend with absences to Rode, Reus, Gotze and Bender who are all out for an extended period of time. They will rely a lot on their home form where they have netted 41 goals in 17 home games this season in all competitions to help them get through.

Sunderland vs Manchester City

Manchester City are going through a strong spell of form after shaky performances in January. Since 28th of January; Man City has gone undefeated in 7 games; with 6 wins in that time. In those games, 5 of them have been won with more than a 2 goal margin which showcases how improved that their defense has been. Offensively also Manchester City have finally a settled front 3 with Sane, Aguero and Sterling; all of whom have been delivering with good consistency in their recent games while Silva and De Bruyne have been pulling the strings from midfield. Man City will know that this Sunderland team is lacking confidence and they are ripe for the taking. With Manchester City having a double game week this weekend, they will hope to grab the full 6 points to give them sole control of 2nd spot.

Huddersfield vs Newcastle

Huddersfield come into this encounter against a Newcastle with some great home form behind them losing just 2 out of their 16 games so far while netting 25 goals during that span. Roma vs Napoli

Napoli come into this game after playing very good match against Juventus by starting to lead early on; before collapsing in the 2nd half to lose 3-1. Napoli now turn their attention to the league taking on Roma who are just 5 points ahead of them and they know that victory will bring that difference to just 2 points if they managed to take victory. They will be looking to start up front with Mertens, Milik and Callejon up front with Hamsik right behind them in the midfield which should help them find the back of the net against a Roma side who let in 2 without reply in mid-week as well. Napoli’s defense has been shaky conceding in 75% of their games on the road. Against the top attacking sides like Roma, Fiorentina, Torino, Juventus they have managed to find the back of the net all as them conceding as well with all of them going over 2.5 goals.

Bordeaux vs Lyon

Bordeaux come into the encounter with some great form behind them, losing just 2 of their last 14 games, and both those coming to the strong PSG side. Bordeaux have really made big strides to sit just 4 points behind tonight’s opponents Lyon; and no one even noticed them passing all the way till here. Bordeaux in particular has been in great offensive form scoring 24 goals in those 11 games played. They have had a number of players contributing their goals which helps them rotate the squad for people to find the back of the net led by Kamano (6 goals), Rolan (5 goals), Malcom (4 goals), Laborde (4 goals), Menez (3 goals). Defensively, Bordeaux have been shaky, conceding 33 goals in 27 games which has seen them concede 8 times in those last 14 games as well which won’t bode too much confidence for them.

Sevilla vs Bilbao

Sevilla are among the strongest sides at home in Europe and that has ensured they have lost a total of 1 league game in front of their home fans, which was a 2-1 loss to Barcelona. Sevilla have relied completely on a team effort throughout this season to keep things in check and ensured that they have all but secured 3rd spot in the League as well as could potentially move to the quarter finals of the Champions League as it stands. They have been in great offensive form throughout the campaign and have scored on average 2 goals per game throughout the campaign with the goal scoring load shared between Iborra, Vitolo, Ben Yedder, Vietto and Vitolo. Defensively, however they have been struggling leaking goals with regularity; an average of over 1 goal per game. They have conceded now in 9 out of their last 13 games, which doesn’t bode well for them when their chasing for the top spots in La Liga. Sevilla’s games average 3.2 per game this season.
