Basaksehir vs Club Brugge

Basaksehir surprised a bit in the first leg as the Turkish side took a draw in a 3:3 game and are now awaiting the re-match game being favorites to progress to the play-off round for Champions League group stage. After disappointing start and being 2:0 down in the scoreline in the first halftime, Turkish side showed much more competitive spirit in the repetition.
Their performance was much better, way more concrete in attack and they deservedly got a positive result and even managed to revert the scoreline thanks to goals from Mossoro in 59th, Elia in 62nd and Mossoro again in 74th minute, but lack of concentration cost them and didn’t manage to pull out a victory since the hosts leveled up five minutes later. During the preparation period, Basaksehir won over Triglav and drew to Vitesse while their league is set to start in two weeks.
Midfielder Aurelien Chedjou (signed from Galatasaray this Summer) remains doubtful with a back injury.

Club Brugge, on the other side, started the game well and even had the double lead after only sixteen minutes of play as Bonaventure brought them into the lead in sixth and Denswil doubled up in 16th, however didn’t manage to keep the performance at the same level in the second halftime and from one end, they could be satisfied to have avoided the defeat.
Turkish side managed to net three goals within fifteen minutes, from 59th to 74th minute, while the players of Club Brugge found a way to equalize in 79th with a goal from Denswil again for the final outcome. On the positive side, they opened the new Jupiler League season with an impressive performance against Lokeren winning on the road with a 4:0 result (goals from Bonaventure twice, Mechele and an own goal), even though they played with a man less since 32nd minute.
Forward Wesley (25/6 in previous season) and midfielder Tomas Pina (6/1 in previous season) are both sidelined being injured for longer period.
Club Brugge now needs to attack since they can’t even count on a draw as a positive outcome and the game should be as open as possible from the first moment. Visitors should start with a bit more ball possession, but they also are a side that is much better when attacking and knows how to score goals, however the Turks remain favorites to progress further but also to win the game as well.
