After a run of five consecutive undefeated matches in LaLiga2, players of Sporting Gijon suffered narrow 1:0 defeat last weekend away to Reus Deportivo. However, it must be said that the visiting side looked better on the field, had more of the ball possession and looked more concrete overall.
Still, it wasn’t enough for them to walk away with something, since the guests stood behind in the score in 68th minute with a goal from Gustavo, but failed to respond later on during the game. After this defeat, the side slipped down the table to fifth position, being now three points behind second placed Osasuna and position that leads directly to LaLiga. As for their matches, the side has 4-2-0 record and surely aim another three pointer.
Sporting keeps missing defender Lora (5/0) and midfielder Alex Lopez (5/0).
Valladolid, on the other side, suffered quite heavy 0:3 defeat in front of own fans against Gimnastic last weekend. It must be said that it simply wasn’t the day for them, since they had much more of the ball possession and chances created, but the players of Gimnastic were simply deadly serious with the ball to their feet.
Guests took the lead in 9th minute via Maikel, with the hosts being better especially in the second half however guests replied with two goals via Gbayara and Maikel again. After three consecutive draws, this is now fourth consecutive game without a victory for the side, as they now stand at 9th position with three points less than play-off placed Numancia.
Guests won’t be able to count at midfielder Sulayman (no performance anyway) and forward Gianniotas (7/2) who are both out with national selections, while defender Angel Garcia (7/1) and forward Villalibre (8/0) remain injured.
Gijon are undefeated in last six matches at home.
Players of Sporting will be looking to get back to the winning ways here and since they are playing Valladolid that are in pretty poor form, especially away from home, I see plenty of chances for them to walk away with a three pointer. Odds are surely valuable enough.
