Monaco have resumed their title defense exactly in the same way that they snatched the title from the dominance of PSG scoring lots of goals and trying to outscore their opponents in every game. Monaco have already put 7 goals past their opponents and are only 3rd in the table because of goal difference. Despite losing several key players like Bernardo, Mendy, Germain and Bakoyoko the rest of the squad has been in tact. Falcao has started where he left off last season already netting 4 goals in the 2 games played so far. He has been well supported by the likes of Jemerson, Moutinho and Diakhaby in his pursuit for attacking opposition and plundering goals past them. Defensively, they have been leaking in both their games so tonight new signing Terence Kongolo should partner Kamil Glik in the heart of defense to try and sure it up for Monaco.
Metz come into the new season in some terrible form with 2 straight losses on the trot against Guingamp and Bordeaux which will not leaving the Metz fan optimistic when the champions come to town. Metz have conceded 5 goals in those 2 games, while only managing to net 1; which will shed light on their struggles in front of goal. They conceded a league high 72 goals last season with only the 4th best offensive with 39 goals and somehow survived the season last season. In their last 5 meetings against Monaco they have failed to score a goal while conceding 17 goals; and that won’t bring them any level of confidence heading into this encounter.
I don’t see any reason for Monaco not to win this game by a couple of goals considering the hot scoring form they are in; and I am backing them to win on the Asian Handicap tonight.
