Monaco will entertain Bordeaux in a critical encounter as Nice have dropped points last night which gives them a 2 point cushion with today’s game in hand while also having a 3 point lead ahead of PSG who are now shot of confidence, giving Monaco the driver’s seat for the Ligue 1 title. Monaco despite having one eye on the Champions League in mid-week know that they have lost only 1 game at home which was a 3-1 loss to Lyon, when they went down to 10 men. Monaco have scored 50 goals at home in 14 games, and 100% of their games have seen 3 goals in those matches. 82% of Monaco’s games across the season have seen over 2.5 goals, and they will probably even rotate a few players as they have to come back from a 2 goal deficit in their encounter against Man City, despite taking 3 away goals. They will be without the services of Falcao and Carillo, but otherwise should have a full fit squad to choose from with Germain and Mbappe starting up front and in good form with the goals.
Bordeaux have been in decent form, slowly rising up the ranks to try and secure a Europa League spot for themselves. In their last 6 games they have won 4 games while drawing 1-1 against Lyon last week along with a 3-0 loss to PSG. 5 out of their last 6 games have seen goals flowing for them and their opponents, with over 2.5 goals landing in those games. Their form away from home has been good winning 4 out of their last 5 games in all competitions. Offensively, they have been good with a lot of players getting on the scoresheet for them including Menez, Rolan, Laborde, Kamano and Malcom. Bordeaux will feel confident coming to Monaco who he expects to be distracted with Champions League tie, and the fact that in their last 15 ties, they have only lost to PSG twice remaining unbeaten in the rest.
