St Mirren comes from a very difficult game last Saturday afternoon away to Inverness and even though they were set as slight underdog, the team managed to take all three points in a 0:2 victory. The game itself wasn’t that interesting in the first halftime, while the guests opened the second half better and took the lead in 52nd minute with a goal from McShane.
Hosts tried to react and had some chances, however as the time progressed only run into troubles staying with a man less in last fifteen minutes of the game, as the players of St Mirren doubled up their lead in second minute of additional time via Reilly. After this victory, the team broke a mini run of three matches without victory and stays now at second position with just a point less than league leaders from Dundee United. They shouldn’t be rotating here nor resting their players, since the game is quite an important one against direct rival in a promotional battle.
Livingston, on the other side, comes from a very impressive performance away to Queen of South, where the side managed to take all three points in a 3:0 victory, even though their opponents were set as quite a favorite before the game.
However, it was all about Livingtson, as the guests took the lead in 32nd minute via Penrice and it was much easier for them to play since then, as the hosts risked more, while the guests were oriented on counter attacks and managed to seal their victory with two goals in last twenty five minutes of the match, via Mullin and Byrne. This way they defeated direct rivals in a promotional battle, now being at third position with just two points behind leaders from Dundee United and a point less than their tonight’s opponents. No doubt that the side will seek to get their fifth victory in seventh match on the road in case they see a chance.
— Four out of last five mutual matches have finished with over 3.5 goals and both teams scoring.
St Mirren does generally well at home and are playing quite offensive football, however this time they are welcoming one of the strongest teams in the league that is surely aiming promotion as well. Livingston seems to be in a nice form now and with their impressive record on the road, I can’t see them making this match as interesting as possible since they also aim for something here and surely won’t stay in a defensive manner.
Bet: Over 2.5 goals
