Thiem vs Zverev

The first Quarterfinal. Two players who both are probably future world no 1 as well future grand slam champions.
Both like this surface although IMO clay suit a little bit more to Thiem.
The current no.8, Dominic Thiem is 22-5 on red dirt in 2018 and he is the only one who defeated Nadal on clay in this season. He has won Lyon, also Buenos Aires earlier, was in finals in Madrid.
The world no. 3, Alexander Zverev is 20-2 on clay in this season. He has won Munich, Madrid and was in final of Rome.
Here on French Open both are yet to win in straight sets. Thiem played every time 4 while Zverev all three rounds won in 5 sets.
Zverev even had to save a match point against Dzumhur.

So, clearly Thiem was better and especially was outstanding his victory over Nishikori. That’s why he is favorite for a good reason. But similar was in Madrid where he defeated Nadal but in the finals Zverev took him down in straight sets.
I have feeling about Zverev similar like about Đoković. Namely, the same as I said for Novak that his early matches were not the real picture, I also think about Zverev. The young Russia-German IMO will be better in this tough match than he was so far.
I expect at least 4 sets and over games. Hopefully we won’t see this time some 6-0 set like was the case in match Thiem vs Nishikori.
