Zwolle opened the new season with a victory over Roda 4:2 at home, but also made a positive appearance last time out, as the team took a point in a 1:1 draw previous weekend away to Sparta Rotterdam. A point taken is a positive result for them, however the truth is that they were closer to obtain a three pointer and have nothing to be embarrassed about the performance.
They entered the game better and took the lead in 13th minute vi Mokhtar, however hosts reacted quickly and leveled up the result just ten minutes later via Muhren. Till the end of the match, the players of Zwolle looked a bit more concrete and maybe deserved something more, however lacked more passion and to be more concrete in last phase of the match. As for now, they are inside the play-off positions being currently sixth at the table and surely want another home victory. Home side will only be missing midfielder Wouter Marinus.
Twente, on the other side, opened the season with a 2:1 defeat against Feyenoord which was expected and the losing margin could have been bigger in that one, but the side disappointed last weekend when they stood with empty hands in home match against Venlo suffering also a 1:2 defeat, which surely wasn’t that expected at all for their fans.
They had more of the ball possession, but generally looked weak with the ball to their feet, while the players of Venlo did what was needed in order to take the victory – they had the double lead already in the first halftime, thanks to goals from van Crooy in 23rd and Promes in 41st minute, while the hosts remained with possession, but with little things done in attack. Later on, they tried to react and increased pressure, reducing via Boere in 60th minute, while the visitors remained being more threatening side. Offensive midfielder Haris Vuckic should be only absentee for the guests.
Twente have lost their last 5 matches (Eredivisie).
Zwolle seems to be in a way better momentum now and should be able to obtain a three pointer easy or hard. Visiting side is struggling in offense and not looking creative in the midfield, while I see fighting spirit of the home team already being enough for a narrow victory at least.
