Direct clash for second place in group between Sporting and Juventus. Sporting obtained just 3 points from first 3 matches into this group and their only one win was vs Olympiacos which ended 2:3 while they lose from Barcelona 0:1 and last one match vs Juventus was 2:1 in favor host – which means 2 of 3 matches ended BTS. Sporting have many missings for this match out are Jeremy Mathieu and Piccini (both starters) so Ristovski will be put on big test also out is Carvalho which is one of most important players from midfield which gives stability to the defense, while Daniel Podence and Ruiz are doubtful – but i believe Jorge Jesus will stick with his 442 formation and play open attacking football knowing that Juventus also have some problems this season with the defense. Additional they are without Lichtsteiner, Benatia and Howedes so Allegri will be “forced” to play with some of Sturaro, De Sciglio or even possible Cuadrado as right back.
Juventus on last 6 matches only vs Milan managed to keep clean sheet but they were a little bit lucky as Kalinic have 2-3 very good chances (one crossbar) plus lets not forget that they have one day less rest compared to Sporting which should push hard from the start as they dont have too much what to lose here – only 3 points are objective for them.
I anticipate an open game here, but I do not think Juventus will have it easy here. Sporting have shown they are not afraid to play, especially when playing at home as they showed against Barcelona and I think they might just surprise everyone here, but they are not exactly sound at the back themselves and have conceded in all three games in this group.
