Preston vs Luton ✅

Preston didn’t have many chances away to Burnley last weekend, suffering a 3:0 loss in quite an unimpressive performance.
They were back in the scoreline already in the fifteenth minute, looked passive and simply weren’t up to the task back then.
It was their second consecutive loss and third in last four matches, as their promotional battle seems to be having less and less real chances.
They miss suspended offensive Evans (22/7), while injured remains forward Riis (24/5).
Luton comes from quite a difficult game away from home against Coventry, but could be overly satisfied with a point taken in a 1:1 game back then.
They took the lead via Lockyer already in the first minute, but had a misfortune to concede a goal in the additional time in the first halftime. They looked slightly more concrete during the clash, but lacked final effort in the continuation of the game.
It was their first draw after three consecutive victories, as they now stand at the fourth position with definitely a great chance to get the play-off ticket in the end.
Right full-back Drameh (2/0) is doubtful, while injured are central defender Bradley (12/0) and offensive midfielder Freeman (20/2).

Derby County vs Cambridge ✅

Derby is coming to this clash after a mediocre performance in the last round on the road to Bolton, but they still managed to take a point in a 0:0 stalemate.
Overly looking, it was almost a completely balanced encounter between these two, with a couple of opportunities created by both sides, but unfortunately, neither of them had enough determination at the finishing to make this one a bit more interesting in goal terms.
Derby is currently at the playoff-leading 6th spot in the rankings, but they need to perform cautiously in the future, as several squads are in a position to threaten them.
Defender Chester is out due to an injury, while important forward McGoldrick should be back this time.
Cambridge managed to end their winless run in their latest home fixture against Shrewsbury when they appeared with more confidence and narrowly recorded a 2:1 victory.
After a goalless first part, the visitors took the lead in the 64th, but the home side responded quickly, reversing the result in the continuation over Tracey and Smith, and moving the match in a direction that suited them quite well.

West Brom vs Preston ❌

WBA performed confidently in the last round away to Bristol City when they recorded a routine 0:2 victory, being more creative in the key moments and deservedly celebrated in this one.
The visitors took an early lead in the 9th over Phillips, keeping their focus high, and used their chance to score another one in the last fifteen minutes via Thomas-Asante.
With this victory, WBA currently sits at the 14th spot in the overall standings, two points in deficit compared to their opposition in the upcoming match.
Defenders Bryan (no performance so far) and Barley (7/2) are out for the home side.
Preston caught up with the negative vibes, as they are suffering from two back-to-back defeats in the campaign, making a setback last time out at home against underdogs from Huddersfield when they ended the clash with a 1:2 result.
The host’s scored first though, over Cunningham in the 35th, but failed to use the gained momentum in the continuation, and unfortunately for them, conceded on two occasions during the second part, simply appearing too uncreative for a better outcome.

After a pretty passive first part when not much of the action has been seen, the hosts appeared better with the ball in the second, successfully taking the lead in the 53rd over Sarr. The visitors did manage to level up in the 86th, but Sarr showed great mood, as he was effective once again in the 90th minute and secured the victory for the home side.

Huddersfield Town vs Blackburn Rovers

Huddersfield was close to taking a point in the last round against Barnsley away, but they, unfortunately, come with a 2:1 defeat.
They opened the match in a better way, taking the lead in the 13th minute over Edmonds-Green, but the celebration was short-lived, as they conceded an equalizer eight minutes later. As mentioned, this clash was very close to a draw, but the hosts showed a more aggressive play in the second part, successfully adding one more to the scoreboard in the third minute of added time, taking points deservedly.
Huddersfield is at 14th place in the rankings, quite safe from the red zone, but not in a position to be competitive for playoff leading places.
