Monaco vs Marseille

Monaco have been the among the best home sides in Ligue 1 with 5 wins out of 6 games played so far, with the other game just being a draw. The team has improved dramatically offensively as compared to last season under Jardem. The team has a lot of firepower up front with the likes of Falcao (5 goals), Lemar (5 goals), Germain (3 goals) and Carillo (4 goals), showcasing the efforts from all over the pitch seeing them net 39 goals in 13 games, which is the best in the division by some distance. Monaco will rely on their strong offensive showing to outscore their opponents that has seen them only lose 2 games in the whole season.

Arsenal vs Tottenham

Arsenal come into this encounter with a lot of form behind them having gone completely undefeated this season other than their opening encounter against Liverpool. Barring the one clean sheet against Middlesbrough; they have averaged 2 goals per game scored over their last 10 games. With the likes of Giroud, Ozil and Walcott coming into form for the Gunners other than the ever present Sanchez, it gives Arsenal a lot of lethal options up front in order to score. The down side for Arsenal coming into this encounter are some injuries that they face with Monreal, Cazorla, Perez missing out along with long term absentees in Mertersacker and Welbeck. Arsenal will feel this is the best time as ever to take on a Tottenham side out of form and with injuries.

Torino vs Cagliari

Torino have been one of the most entertaining teams to watch this season, as they have been goals galore in their games so far. 37 goals have been scored in the 11 games so far; with the Turin outfit hitting 22 goals; which is the fourth highest in the Italian top flight this campaign. The likes of Belotti, Falque, Ljacic and Baselli have been contributing the goals. Defensively they have been struggling despite the signing of Joe Hart conceding goals in 9 out of the 11 games played so far (which were both 0-0 encounters). Their last 6 games have seen 24 goals in total, and this looks set for more goals to flow in this game.
Cagliari have really let the taps loose on the offensive end scoring 19 goals in 11 games played so far. They have been extremely attacking in scoring their goals against some good sides like Inter, Fiorentina, Lazio, Roma and Atalanta which will bode a lot of confidence in the side even though they travel away to Turin. Cagiliari have been weak defensively conceding 24 goals in their 11 games, as some sides look to take advantage of them. They have only kept 1 clean sheet this season and with an offensive Torino coming to town, you can expect some goals to flow. Their lats 6 games have seen 25 goals in total, and like Torino’s encounters goals look to flow.

Austria Vienna vs Roma

Austria Vienna will feel extremely confident coming into this game after they held Roma to a 3-3 draw away at the Stadio Olympic. Since then Vienna have won 3 straight games and are now within 1 point of 2nd place in the table. Austria have been in good goal scoring form this season, finding the back of the net in 23 out of 25 games played so far this campaign led by some strong goal scoring efforts by Grunwald, Tajouri, Kayode, Venuto and Holzhauser who have netted 20 goals among them so far. Defensively they have been shaky conceding now in 15 out of their last 18 games across all competitions. They will feel the pressure might get to them in this big game as the winner will all likely top this group.

Dortmund vs Sporting

Dortmund are looking to try and build some momentum after fading out the last couple of weeks drawing 3 straight games in a row coming into this game after beating Sporting by a narrow 2-1 goal line last time around. Aubamayeng has been their leading goal scorer with 3 goals in 3 Champions League outings so far and will be aiming to add to that tally in front of their home fans. With a strong attacking midfield boasting the likes of Gotze, Dembele, Kagawa, Castro, Pulisic who are extremely strong while on the counter attack which has helped them scores for most of the campaign. Where Dortmund has been struggling in recent weeks is at the back especially with injuries to key defenders Marcel Schmelzer, Erik Durm, Neven Subotic, and Raphael Guerreiro which leaves them with a rotated back 4 finding it difficult to keep it tight at the back. Dortmund have conceded goals in 8 out of their last 9 games, and that will be something that Sporting will be licking their lips at.

Empoli vs Roma

Roma come into this encounter on a rich vein of form especially on the offensive end. They are currently the best offensive side in the division netting 26 goals in 10 games played so far. Their form has been due to the slick counter attacking football they have played through their forward line of Dzeko, Salah and El Sharaawy. Roma have been soo good offensively that it seems that they will score heavy against almost all opposition and have had some impressive results in recent weeks beating Napoli 3-1, Inter 2-1 and Sassuolo 2-1 in just their last 5 games. They have been vulnerable at the back also leaking an average of one goal per game and that has landed in every one of their last few games. There has only been one Roma game with less than 3 goals for the entire campaign; and one can expect similar the same.

Nice vs Nantes

Nice who are the league leaders in France, come into this contest with a good 3 point lead and a game in hand against their rivals Monaco and PSG; and will be aiming to continue on their merry way in this game. Nice have been in superb form not losing a single game this season (8 Wins, 2 draws). Their goal scoring exploits have been exciting for all to see as they have netted 20 goals in the 10 games played so far. Their offensive efforts are led by Plea (6 goals), Balotelli (5 goals), Baysee & Cyprien (2 goals each). Balotelli has been in cracking form in front of the home fans netting 5 goals in 4 games started so far this campaign. Despite the strong offensive showing, they have focussed well on the defensive end as well only lets in 7 goals so far to be the best defensive team in the division. With that kind of form behind them, its hard to see how to not back them especially at home in front of their own fans.

Juventus vs Napoli

Juventus have lost only twice this season against both the Milan sides; but now look back to playing on their home turf against a Napoli side. Juventus showcased their great form with a solid 4-1 victory in mid-week against Sampdoria with Chiellini, Mandzukic and Pjanic getting on the scoresheet. Juventus will look at star hit-man and record signing Gonzalo Higuain to showcase some great talent against the side where he came from in the summer window. Higuain hasn’t been in the goal as much as he would like but has been a constant threat in front of their opponents who have been leaking far more goals than they have last season. Defensively, Juventus have look vulnerable in recent times; but with just Benatia missing; we expect Juventus to get back to their strong defensive shape in this one.

Crystal Palace vs Liverpool

Liverpool come into this game against Crystal Palace sitting jointly along with Man City and Arsenal with 20 points at the top of the table, and will look at this fixture against Crystal Palace in order to try and get a lead in the table. Liverpool have been in great scoring form coming into his encounter netting 20 goals in the 9 encounters that they have played in so far. In fact, barring a drab 0-0 against Manchester United; they have scored 2 goals and won those games in 7 games on the trot. The attacking front 4 of Mane, Firmino, Coutinho and Wjanldum has done the trick for them. Their games have seen full entertainment with Liverpool winning and at least 3 goals being scored in 9 out of 12 matches played so far for the Reds team. Additionally their defense has been shaky in many games, so that has seen 2-1 scoreline come across in a lot of matches, in fact 4 times this season and 3 times in their last 4 games. Liverpool have conceded goals in 8 out of the 9 games played so far this season.

Inter vs Torino

Inter Milan have been really in the Serie A now with 3 straight losses by the exact 2-1 scoreline against Atalanta, Cagliari and Roma; which won’t bode any confidence for the team and Frank De Boer; who might find himself out of a job unless he is able to turn his fortunes around. Inter have managed to score and find the back of the net 11 out of 13 games played so far this campaign led by strong performances like Icardi, Perisic and Joventic. The struggles have really come for Inter on the defensive end, where they have leaked goals 8 out of the 9 games that they have played so far; which means their games tend to see a lot of goals with 23 in 9 games so far.
