After three wins, over Real Madrid, Celta, and Villarreal, players of Alaves suffered bit unexpected defeat away to Eibar with a 2:1 result last weekend. They did take the lead, but having played with a man less from 24th till 62nd minute was too much as the players looked extremely tired and got punished for it. The side now needs to get a victory here to maintain within the Champions League positions.
Huesca actually surprised a bit last weekend when the team welcomed Getafe and the relegation strugglers managed to pull out a draw in a 1:1 game. They were better, especially in the second halftime when they took the lead and it was easier for them to play – still got punished for inexperience very late into the match. The side continues to be at the rock bottom position with only six points for now.
Left-back Duarte (11/0) is suspended for this one. Midfielders Pina (5/1) and Wakaso (9/0) are injured. The visitors have left back Brezancic doubtful for the moment, while injured are another left back Luisinho (6/0), midfielder Melero (8/1) and forward Avila (10/1).
Huesca has lost their last 4 away matches (La Liga)..
Alaves did suffer defeat in the previous round and their momentum could be changing, however, I believe the team has what it takes to get a three-pointer against Huesca. Opponents that are obviously one of the weakest links in LaLiga and shouldn’t stay competitive for far too long in this one.
