Almeria vs Villarreal

Almeria suffered actually quite expected defeat away to Granada last weekend narrowly with a 1:0 result and a goal conceded in last few minutes of the game. They were too defensive and disciplined till the very end. The side remained with defensive and ugly results on the road (therefore the defeat was expected), as they stand now on ninth position with just three points less than play-off zone.
Villarreal is not looking that impressive so far. They have suffered three defeats in the last four rounds, being just a point above the relegation zone. Most recently, they suffered 2:1 defeat away to Alaves, even though they took the lead in the tenth minute and kept it till the 51st minute, conceding the second goal in the fifth minute of added time. Some more discipline in the defensive lineup does lack for them.
Hosts should have no fresh injury worries with left-back Nano (1/0) remaining sidelined. Guests miss defenders Gonzalez (10/0), Costa (8/0), forwards Bacca (9/1), Ekambi (10/2) who are sidelined for this game. They continue to have four long-term absentees too. Both teams are set to rotate a bit further.

Almeria rellies much more on their home matches and is difficult to break in front of own fans. Villarreal remains a huge favorite to progress further overall, but I don’t see them that inspired to chase a victory with a rotated squad so close to their important home clash against Levante that surely means them much more at this moment being so close to the relegation zone.
