AZ Alkmaar disappointed losing on the road to Willem II 2:1. They stood quickly two goals back in the scoreline and failed to present themselves more concrete even though they had the ball possession. The side needs a momentum change coming from exclusion in the Dutch semifinals against the very same opponent.
Sittard had the double goal lead after thirty minutes at home against Heerenveen, but as soon as they scored second the team didn’t look convincing. They got completely outplayed in the second halftime and couldn’t handle the pressure at all. The side is just above the playout zone now.
Midfielder Svensson (21/1) should miss for the hosts in this one. The visiting team has midfielder Rodriguez (18/2) suspended, while injured are defender Syhre (no performance so far), plus doubtful are defenders Ninaj (13/2) and Dammers (17/1) both with very little chances to play.
It’s not perfect time for AZ, but the opponent seems like a great chance for them bounce back to winning ways. Whatever Sittard does in attack, their defensive lineup is even worse, while the side anyway prefers the passive approach in their games on the road. Knowing that, but also that AZ needs this one desperately, I do see the hosts sealing way before the last phase.
