Belgium vs Japan

Belgium will come into this encounter being the strong favorites having won all 3 games so far this tournament and will be looking to once again dominate against the Japanese. Belgium have managed to keep 2 clean sheets while scoring 9 goals and conceding just 2; which showcases the form they are in heading into this encounter. They have strong players with Lukaku already scoring 4 goals while Hazard knocking in 2 so far; which should give them positive momentum moving forward. The Belgians will be confident of keeping a clean sheet against a decently strong Premier League experienced England team at bay which should give them enough confidence to play well tonight.

Japan have looked scratchy in part but managed to find the back f the net in their earlier games due to Colombia playing with 10 men and Senegal’s lack lustre defense; but were then brought back down to earth losing 1-0 to Poland. Japan just managed to escape the group due to the fair play award. Japan have struggled against European teams losing 5 straight matches to European opposition including against Belgium which was a 1-0 loss late last year. For Japan to succeed they will have to try and scoring trying to use pace against this Belgian team through the likes of Inui, Kagawa, Haraguchi, Osako who are likely to lead the attacking unit of Japan. Japan score many of their goals through set pieces; but Belgium are a taller unit which should help them clear out and defend most of those set pieces.
Belgium have been in great scoring form winning 4 out of their last 5 games by a 3 goal margin including against sides like Costa Rica, Panama, Tunisia and Egypt while overall remaining undefeated in past 22 games; I am backing Belgium to win this game, and backing them on the Asian Handicap to do this.
