After five consecutive defeats, players of Birmingham managed to get a 1:0 victory at home over much more favorites Leeds. They had very little of the ball possession, however, were very threatening in every aspect with the counter attacks organized against not creative guests. The side is now five points above the relegation zone and needs to continue performing in a positive way.
Sheffield United walked away with a narrow 1:0 victory away against Preston. It was probably a bit more defensive game than what was expected, however, the players of Sheffield did deserve what they got overall. They are now two points below the second position and need a victory badly here.
The hosts should miss defender Kieftenbeld (36/1) and midfielder Lakin (8/0). The visiting team has defender O’Connell (36/2) set as doubtful.
Birmingham is coming from a morale-boosting victory and surely aims to continue the momentum here in order to avoid further troubles. Sheffield United remains in a battle for direct promotion and can’t calculate here at all. Both teams to approach the game in an open style is my call here.
