Bologna appeared quite well last time out on the road to Parma, as they recorded a convincing 0:3 victory.
They looked far better with the ball to their feet, especially in the first part, when they were effective twice, in the 15th and the 33rd over Barrow. Even though the hosts had several decent chances to make this clash a bit more interesting, they lacked sharpness at the finishing, on the contrary to the guests, that were effective one more time just before the fulltime and routinely walked away with a three-pointer.
Bologna is positioned at the 13th spot in the standings, at a safe distance from the danger zone, but not in a position to compete for a European exit.
Right-back Farago (8/0) is injured, as well as defensive midfielder Medel (8/0) and striker Santander (4/0). Midfielder Svanberg (19/2) is suspended.
Benevento had a chance to end their winless momentum in the last round at home against Sampdoria, but unfortunately, they came with a 1:1 draw.
They started the match with a certain dose of insecurity, truly having a fortune of not conceding in the first forty-five minutes, but visibly appeared better in the second when they took the lead after a brilliant goal scored by Caprari. However, their vulnerability in the back once again proved to be their biggest flaw, as they conceded an equalizer in the 80th, not being ina position to do something.
Benevento is at 14th place in the rankings, being in an identical situation as their opponents in the upcoming encounter.
The guests will miss central defender Antei (2/0), right-back Letizia (15/3), plus forward Moncini (7/0) due to injuries. Suspended are midfielder Ionita (21/0) and forward Improta (20/1) due to accumulations of yellow cards.
More stable lately
Both teams had some difficult matchup in the last couple of rounds, but it seemed that Bologna appeared with more confidence. As previously mentioned, Benevento is having problems in their backline, as they concede too easily in my opinion. To be honest, Bologna isn’t at its peak, but they are a more experienced team and in my eyes, more than capable to win against the visiting side that didn’t cope in the best way as a newcomer in Serie A.
