Cardiff City totally collapsed unexpectedly away to Stoke last Saturday night. A goal in each halftime was enough for the home team to claim a victory, as the guests simply showed too little.
They had slightly more of the ball possession but failed to present themselves in a more threatening way. They are now six points behind the playoff zone and can remain in a competitive race only in case of a victory here.
The hosts will miss forward Vassell (2/1) and offensive midfielder Mendez-Laing (19/2) due to injuries.
Nottingham Forest, on the other side, comes from a goalless home match against QPR last weekend. The game itself wasn’t very interesting, as the home team had more of the ball possession but the chances weren’t that concrete.
Even though they have created more, they simply lacked sharper solutions in the last phase. They are now without a victory in the last three rounds and need to respond in this one currently at the fifth position with just three points more than out of playoff zone placed Bristol City.
Nottingham Forest team news
The guests can’t count at right-back Darinkwa (no performance so far) and midfielder Sow (18/0).
Kind of a promotional battle game
Cardiff now needs to respond with far better performance after their unexpected defeat, while Nottingham remains quite stable and more than impressive away from home. Both teams scoring at least once seems like a very reasonable pick.
