The Scots are entering this one quite confident with their appearances as they started the new season in a very good way, having two victories and one draw.
If we exclude that setback from round two against Kilmarnock, they are really looking good on the field these days. In the last match, they did just enough to justify the role of favorites against Dundee Utd, as they recorded an away victory with minimal result.
Besides the Premiership, last Tuesday evening they played the Champions League qualification match against KR Reykjavik from Iceland and managed to qualify for the next round with convincing 6:0 home victory.
As mentioned, Celtic is really looking quite good, especially in the offense, and in my opinion, they will have no problems in scoring in this encounter.
Celtic team news
Forward Griffiths (21/9, last season) is injured. They have signed striker Ajeti from West Ham and goalkeeper Barkas from AEK Athens as biggest reinforcements for now.
The Hungarians also fell quite confident before this upcoming clash, as they were able to eliminate Djurgarden from Sweden in the last qualification match for the Champions League.
They looked far better and sharper with the ball to their feet, especially in the first part, and with two goals scored over Nguen, they managed to cross their first obstacle to their final goal.
As for the domestic championship, the OTP Bank Liga just started, and Ferencvaros made a minor setback in the first round when they come from an away 1:1 draw against MTK Budapest, but I am sure that they will continue with their distinctive offensive play, as the season progress.
Ferencvaros is quite an effective team, and even though they will most likely be a losing side in this one, I am quite confident that they can at least put one goal on the scoreboard.
Visitors from Hungary should have no fresh injury worries for this one.
Nothing to lose and quite good in transition
Celtic remains quite a favorite and their progress further shouldn’t be questionable. However, Ferencvaros does look very fluid with the ball to their feet and is quite threatening for this early stage of the new season. With Nguen in-form and quite a decent transition game, seeing the visitors scoring in this one shouldn’t come as a huge surprise.
