Newcomer Crotone suffered a very convincing defeat in their first match in Serie A against Genoa, away from their home.
The hosts started the match furiously, and after the first forty-five minutes, had a hard to reach 3:1 advantage. The guests failed to do something concrete in the continuation of the match and with one more goal conceded in the 75th minute, suffered a demoralizing loss in their first match among the elite.
Crotone is at 18th place in the overall standings, and they will most certainly do their best to improve their appearances as the season continues.
Central backs Cuomo (21/1, last season) and Gigliotti (20/0, last season) are out injured, as well as central midfielder Benali (28/7, last season).
AC Milan did their job in their last Europa League qualification match against Bodo/Glimt from Norway, as they were able to progress with a 3:2 home victory.
The first part of the match proved to be crucial for Milan, as in that part they were the superior opponent, and went on a break with a 2:1 lead. In the second half, a more balanced play was seen, as both teams were able to score once, but the Rossoneri proved that they have more experience in these types of matches, as they didn’t let any surprises to occur.
Back in Serie A, they started the season in the best possible way, when they routinely defeated visitors from Bologna in the first round with a 2:0 result. Milan is currently at 5th place on the table, aiming for the Champions League ticket this season, as they failed to do so in the previous one.
The guests have right-back Conti (23/0, last season) injured, same as central backs Romagnoli (35/1, last season), Musacchio (18/0, last season). Central back Duarte (1/0) and striker Ibrahimovic (1/2) are under quarantine. Forward Leao (31/6, last season) should be ready on time.
Chances like this shouldn’t be missed
Even without Ibrahimovic in this one, AC Milan remains simply too strong for the opponents. They now have a perfect chance to finally start the season in a proper way, and they are by far a superior team and could win it easier than suggested with the correct approach.
