After a great and important victory at home against Dinamo Minsk, players of Dynamo Brest disappointed in the next game last weekend losing out 2:1 away from home against Energetik-BGU. No doubt that their morale was boosted with the previous three-pointer, however, they failed to make the game go into their favor.
A bit passive at first, it was the hosts who looked more threatening and reached the lead via Bakic at the end of the first halftime, while Yudchits doubled up their lead at the start of the second. The development of the match was terrible for Brest, as they continued to push and dominated the ball in the very open second part, but just reached consolidation goal via Kislyak in the fourth minute of added time.
Too little for now for the current champions, as they stand five points behind Europa League positions and six behind leaders from BATE, but there’s no better moment to react than in this one.
Brest team news
Defenders Vitus (4/0) and offensive player Bakaj (3/0) won’t play due to injury. Central defender Khacheridi (2/0) remains suspended. Midfielder Krivets (4/0) should be ready for the entire game, while another midfielder Noyok (8/0) comes back from serving the suspension.
BATE Borisov obviously stepped up and turned their engines on in the recent weeks, coming now from their straight victory in Vysshaya Liga. Thanks to their most recent 3:0 victory at home over Slutsk, the side is finally alone in the first position but with just a point more than second and third Zhodino and Energetik-BGU.
The game was pretty much an easy one for them, as Milic brought them into the lead already in the fourth minute and it wasn’t much later when Stasevich doubled it up in the 24th minute. Nekhajchik sealed the victory in the 70th minute, in a match which didn’t look that one-sided one, however, it was BATE that showed better efficiency and simply didn’t have any problems keeping the lead.
Surely that continuation of good performance is their priority as well as three-points here, meanwhile, their defensive lineup could use a bit tighter approach when playing away from home, showing sometimes lack of real discipline.
BATE team news
Defender Kopitovic (4/0) and forward Saroka (5/2) are both still unfit after coming from injury problems.
Seems like a quite promising match
There’s no real reason for any of these teams to enter the match in a defensive and closed manner. BATE definitely seeks a victory and won’t seal that easily for a draw, while Dynamo remains far from desired positions and can’t get anything in case they stay passive on the field. Both teams definitely anyway do score easier than what their reliability at the back seems to be.
