Eintracht positively surprised last time out in Bundesliga, as they managed to win over Dortmund with a 1:2 result, playing away from their home.
They took an early lead in the 11th minute when Schulz scored an own goal, but conceded an equalizer just before the halftime whistle. The second part brought us visibly more aggressive home side, but they paid a price of lacking creativity at the finishing in the 87th when Andre Silva added one more to the scoreline for the visitors and brought Eintracht valuable three points in this one.
Currently, Eintracht holds Champions League-leading 4th spot in the rankings, leaving their closest rivals Dortmund seven points in deficit.
They will miss injured central-back Hinteregger (24/1), midfielders Toure (16/0) and offensive Ache (5/0).
Wolfsburg caught up with good momentum, currently being on three matches winning streak, last time against Koln at home with a narrow 1:0 result.
After a bit insecure first part of the match, the hosts performed with much more aggression in the continuation, deservedly scoring the only one in this encounter over Brekalo in the 69th minute. The quality gap was obvious here, and Wolfsburg seemingly played just enough for a victory, probably deserving to score more too.
They are at third place in the rankings, being only three points in deficit compared to the second-placed Leipzig.
The guests miss suspended left-back Otavio (18/0), plus injured offensive midfielders Steffen (21/5) and Mehmedi (16/0). Doubtful lacking match fitness are left-back Roussillon (14/0) and right-back Mbabu (16/0).
One of the best this season are clashing
Surely, this is a highly anticipated clash, with both sides having expectations to meet. Wolfsburg is looking quite good, but the same thing can be said for Eintracht, and in my opinion, just a slight push is needed to turn this clash into an all-around race for another three points with both looking way better in the offense.
