Everton got outplayed last time out in front of own fans against Wolves with a 1:3 result. They conceded early from the penalty kick, leveled up but the guests simply played great on counters. Despite the ball possession the hosts paid the price of poor defending that time.
Manchester City proved to be too strong for Arsenal last weekend, celebrating a 3:1 home win. Aguero was the star of the game with three goals, but overall the Citizens looked far more superior and could have earned even a bigger margin win. They are now three points behind the Reds and in a must-win situation here.
Defender Jagielka (2/0) is sidelined for this one, while doubtful are defenders Mina (10/1), Baines (6/0) and midfielder Gueye (20/0). The Citizens miss defender Kompany (9/0) and goalkeeper Bravo who didn’t perform so far. Defender Mendy (9/0) is doubtful coming off from injury.
Liverpool once again gave a morale boost to the Citizens and I’m sure they will use it this time as well. Away win now seems very likely, however the hosts do have quality in attack as well. More of a value pick this time.
