Without much of the competitive motive, but also without much of problems, Salzburg managed to get their 2:1 victory away from home against Sturm last weekend.
Their title has been sealed for some time now, with the team only remaining this one last match in order to say goodbye to their fans for now, preferably in the best possible way.
Defender Pongracic (14/0) is injured, same as defender Onguene (12/2), midfielder Diarra (10/0) and some less notable ones for this season. Midfielder Junuzovic (21/4) is suspended for this one.
St Polten had a decent season however European exit isn’t realistic anymore for them as the team entered the worst possible form towards the end.
They are without a victory in last eight rounds, having four consecutive defeats and three losses without a single goal scored. Most recently, they suffered a narrow 0:1 home loss to LASK Linz.
The guests will miss injured defender Meisl (22/1), forwards Fountas (21/4) and Pak (24/4). Suspended is central back Luan (30/2), while striker Ouedraogo (11/3) also shouldn’t play.
St Polten really looked decent at some point, but it seems that the season is simply too long for them and it’s taking its course from bad to worse. Individual and team quality difference exists here, while the hosts have every reason to give a good show to their fans
A couple of important players will be playing their last game for the hosts, while two goals difference victory should be a minimum in an easy home win.
