France needed a lot of chances created and lacked better efficiency to have a much easier game against the English team.
They even missed two penalties in the process, were playing with a man more for almost entire second halftime and finally managed to revert the scoreline into their favour in the last ten minutes of the match, deep into the additional time via an own goal.
However, truth to be told, they were better even before having a man more on the field, but real efficiency needs to be improved.
Everything that could have done in a bad way for the Croats in their game-opening clash, went even worse for them. Quite an unconvincing penalty was given after V.A.R. for the Romanians already in the tenth minute, making it really difficult for them later on.
I strongly believe the side has much more quality than what they have shown against Romania, but also there’s no question about it that they need to improve their defending.
This match comes as their last chance to get involved for the race to progress further and more open style is expected.
The French side will miss their offensive Bamba (19/5, Lille) for this one, as he picked up an ankle injury against England. The Croats will miss forward Brekalo (14/7, Wolfsburg) who was taken off early against Romania. They should come up with more than a couple of changes after unconvincing performance.
Due to the nature of the competition, the French team will be looking to get a victory here as well. There’s no other way for them, while the Croats can even play a bit more relaxed and trying to regain some of the confidence.
As said, I believe they have plenty of quality and could easily make a decent response here. French team, however, remains a favourite, but my first betting option will be with the goals since neither of them impressed with the defence and must seek all three points here as well. Both teams are far more gifted in the offence.
