Gil Vicente entered the match away to Portimonense with every chance of walking away with something, however, they didn’t prove that on the field. In quite an uninteresting game, it was Portimonense that scored the only goal via Lucas in the 50th minute.
Other than that, nothing much was seen on the field and the result could have easily been a goalless game too. It definitely looks like a really slow start for Gil Vicente after the long break. Luckily for them, they are in the middle of the table and pretty safe at the moment.
Defensive midfielder Goncalves (17/1) is suspended for this one, while forward Lopes (25/10) won’t play either.
Famalicao pulled out a great surprise last Wednesday night when they won against FC Porto 2:1 at home. Of course, they were under a lot of pressure, but not as much as it could have been, while the team reacted really well via counters and was very effective in the smaller number of chances they had.
The guests were slightly dominant in the first, however, goals came in the repetition. The hosts have taken the lead via Martins in the 48th, while the visitors managed to level up via Corona. Just when they were excepted to make extra-pressure Pote broke their defense once again for the final 2:1 result.
They are now just three points behind Europa League placed Sporting and no doubt that the team wants to finish as high as possible matching some of most reputable Portuguese clubs.
Central defender Perez (17/1) is suspended, same as left-back Centelles (19/0). Another left-back Coly (5/0) is not fully fit for the entire competitive match.
Complete momentum but not only that
Famalicao has shown much more during the entire season and the team is scoring goals far easier than what Gil Vicente does. Not only that, but some certain individual differences are also obvious, while there’s no doubt that the guests reacted far better after the break.
