Heracles whiped the floor with De Graafschap and another game where Heracles scored 3+runs. So they played tuesday in Den Bosch with 9 (!) changes and still they won deservedly with 1-2. They have a very strong bench indeed. Kuwas did not even start against De Graafschap which raised a lot of eyebrows.
Emmen on the other hand lost at home against PEC. PEC is in a very poor form and the luckiest team won. A draw would had been Just but Slagveer forgot to score in the second half with an one on one situation with the goalie. So Emmen won two away games, in Utrecht and in Den haag. Den Haag had a total off -day and missed plenty of chances while Utrecht is in a crisis and just sacked their manager before the game with Emmen. Utrecht was leading at halftime but Bijl scored a lucky but beautiful goal from distance, a goal he will never make again probably.
Emmen is a new promoted team and they played never in the Eredivisie before. I am not impressed with them at all and their squad is nothing special as they have one of the smallest payrolls in the competition. They brought players that were side tracked at their clubs. Bakker from PEC. Slagveer from Heerenveen. And Cavlan is a former Heerenveen player as well. And the same with Niemeijer who came on loan from Heracles. Almost Half of their squad is keuken Kampien Divisie ( former Eerste Divisie ) material.
Ben Moussa left the game against PEC with an injury but it seems nothing serious. Heracles played with a second team in the cup so they will be fresh. Emmen will play today in the cup, but the manager will rotate and put a mixed lineup. I will update if any important missings.
Quality difference is huge. I had a bet on Heracles against Willem II and Heracles got trashed with 0-5 as they had a total off-day. Either that or underestimation could bring the Hosts in danger here as they are the better team by far.
