Holstein Kiel was set as a slight favorite away from home against Regensburg last Sunday afternoon, but the side was limited to a goalless game.
They had much more of the ball possession, however, the chances weren’t coming in as it really seemed like it wasn’t their day. What of “semi-tries” is what both sides had, without really good chances created.
It was their second consecutive draw (the first one was against Heidenheim), while they won over Hamburger SV on the road in the first round.
Magdeburg, on the other side, won the promotion last season and now the main focus is to avoid the relegation troubles at any costs.
However, the team doesn’t seem to be reacting really well so far, having two points out of first three rounds. Most recently, they took a point in a 1:1 home draw against Ingolstadt last weekend.
Goals were scored in the first halftime, with neither of the teams being really willing to attack and risk towards the end. Neither of the teams is having fresh injury or suspension worries.
~ Magdeburg has failed to win any of their last 3 matches
Holstein Kiel was close to promote last season and their ambitions are staying the same. Magdeburg, as a newly promoted side, and a team that didn’t show many impressive things so far should be no real threat for them. Value is with the home team here.
