After two draws in the league, Holstein Kiel responded with far better performance away to Bochum and celebrated a 3:1 victory. It was all over in the first halftime with all three goals scored back then. The side is now just two points behind third Union and a victory here is very much needed.
After two victories in a row, Union Berlin disappointed a bit against in-form Bielefeld at home taking a point in a 1:1 game. They had the lead first but appeared more than defensive than what was supposed to be in the continuation.
Defensive midfielder and team captain Kinsombi (18/4) is sidelined for the hosts, as well as offensive Schindler (19/6). The guests continue to miss forward Polter (12/5).
This should be an interesting game, with both chasing and dreaming about promotion. Union isn’t defensive on the road that much and now being in a situation where they need points, I can’t see this one being a defensive minded game.
