Las Palmas vs Espanyol

Las Palmas have been in a good run of form that saw them push on towards the top of the table for the opening weeks, before coming crashing back down to earth with a 4-1 loss to Real Sociedad. In their last 2 games, they have shown us that they are difficult side to break down and can definitely hold it on their own against tough opposition. They went and drew 2-2 with Real Madrid after coming back from losing twice; while coming back again from a 2-0 deficit at HT to draw 2-2 with Osasuna. These last 2 games have surely built their resolve coming into this game.

Their offense has proven to be good netting 16 times this season which is joint with Real Madrid and just behind Barcelona. At home in front of their fans, they have been a difficult nut to crack after a solid 2-2 against Real Madrid and their other 2 home games as well. In 2016, they have only lost to Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid in front of their home fans, and thrashed Epsanyol 4-0 towards the end of last season.
Espanyol on the flip side have really been really struggling with just 1 victory to their name this campaign against struggling Osasuna. They sit just outside the relegation places, and will be hoping to make amends in this encounter. The problem they have faced is defensively where they are 4th in most goals conceded and that has seen resulted in them struggling in 17th spot. Goals are at a premium for them finding the net just 9 times in 7 games, which doesn’t bode well when your trying to get out of the rut. Their struggles away from home are well documented as they have only won 4 games out of 23 on the road. Oscar Duarte is out with an ankle injury while Felipe Caicedo is also injured; which gives them short of some good players.
