After a very impressive five matches streak without a negative result, Lugo suffered a loss in the last round on the road to Espanyol with a 2:1 result.
The home side had complete control over the ball possession during this clash and with a goal in the 30th minute, took the lead. Their advantage was short-lived, as the guests were able to bounce back with an equalizer over Carrilo, only three minutes later, but overly looking, the hosts seemed closer to victory.
They added one more to the scoreline in the 58th minute, effectively keeping their goal safe until the end of the clash, despite several nice chances that were created by the visiting side, which showed that they can be very dangerous via counters.
Lugo is currently in 10th place in LaLiga2, looking quite good for their standards, since the beginning of the new season.
The home side should have no fresh injury worry for this one.
Albacete is having difficulties with its appearances since the beginning of the new season, as they recorded only two victories out of eleven matches played.
In the last round, they come from a 0:0 draw against Leganes, playing at their home stadium. Both teams opted for a more defensive approach, with minimal risks being taken from each side, so a match without goals didn’t come as a great surprise.
Albacete is looking to passive this season, and their position in the overall standing is a mirror of their performances. They are currently in 19th place, having ten points out of eleven matches.
The guests should continue missing defenders Jimenez (1/0), Mvondo (4/0), and Munoz (5/0) for this one. Defender Caballo (7/0) remains doubtful but should play. Midfielder Silvestre (9/1) should be out due to suspension.
Better overall impression
Even though the hosts are coming to this clash after a defeat, they are looking way better as a team on the whole and should pull this one out. Their offensive line is proven to be very effective, and having a pretty passive opponent on the other side, should make their job even easier in this one. I am going to support them here, with the odds in their favor do look like tempting ones.
