Players of Manchester United probably felt a bit disappointed to have walked away with just a draw and a 1:1 result away to Club Brugge in the first leg. Still, they already showed to be a better side actually and now keep the destiny in their own hands.
As for the Premiership, they had a relatively easy task at home against Watford celebrating a 3:0 victory thanks to goals from Fernandes, Martial, and Greenwood. They are now three points behind the fourth-placed Chelsea and have a good chance to get the Champions League ticket, but surely want progress here too.
Central defender Tuanzebe (5/0) is unfit, while midfielder Pogba (7/0) and offensive Rashford (22/14) remain injured.
Club Brugge KV
Club Brugge did take the lead first in the first leg thanks to a goal from Dennis in the fifteenth minute but could be content with the final outcome in the end. It was the English side that had more of the ball possession and looked like a controlling team, missing a bit sharper chances only.
They pulled out a narrow 1:0 home victory over Charleroi last weekend, thanks to a goal from Balanta in the first minute already. Apart from that, the game wasn’t very interesting as the home team remained better and a controlling one, but satisfied with the result they had. They continue to lead the table towards another title with nine points more than second-placed Gent.
Club Brugge team news
The guests can’t count at offensive player Diatta (20/3), plus suspended central-back Balanta (14/2). Midfielder Vormer (27/1) shouldn’t appear due to eye problem.
Convincing face in front of own fans
Players of Manhcester are looking like a side with much more confidence in front of own fans and with the individually and team quality anyway being on their side – it’s difficult to see anything but a convincing home victory here.
