Napoli didn’t manage to exploit the fact that Juventus made a setback previous day, as the players from the South of Italy took just a point in a 1:1 game on the road to Spal last Sunday afternoon.
They took the lead in the ninth minute already via Milik, however, stood leveled up just minutes later with a goal from Kurtic.
Despite much more of the ball possession, the guests weren’t able to look as concrete as possible in the offense. With this point, they are now six points behind Juventus and need a victory in this one.
Left-back Mario Rui (4/0) is injured. As well as central backs Manolas (6/2), Maksimovic (4/0) and right backs Hysaj (3/0) and Malcuit (3/0).
Atalanta stood behind in the scoreline in the 12th minute at home against Udinese but quickly showed their real face leveling up via Ilicic ten minutes later.
Their guests stood playing with a man less since the 32nd minute, however, the quality difference was too obvious even before that situation so the home victory was more than deserved.
However, seven goals into the Udinese’s net might be the too harsh outcome this time. Atalanta is now just three points behind the leaders from Juventus after a very good run in Serie A, unlike their Champions League outings.
The guests are set to miss forward Zapata (7/6) once again.
Napoli has seen over 2.5 goals in their last 3 home matches against Atalanta.
Napoli is still a favorite to get the victory here, however with the injury crisis at the back, I can’t see them being too reliable in defense against such a strong quality.
Atalanta is also doing much better in attack than what they look at the back. With the importance of the match and how both teams look like, goals look like a sure thing. In both nets and more than just once.
