Nurnberg did a good job in their last home match when they were able to convincingly outplay Heidenheim with a 3:1 result.
They took an early lead in the 2nd minute, however, conceded an equalizer from the penalty in the 19th. Nevertheless, the hosts showed a great deal of persistency, as they managed to bounce back and took the lead once again in the 26th, while with another one scored at the early phase of the second part, confirmed their victory in this encounter.
Nurnberg is positioned at 13th spot in the overall standings, nine points ahead of relegation worried Braunschweig.
The hosts will miss defenders Sorg (7/0), Muhl (28/1), Knothe (4/0), plus forwards Schaffler (24/10), Lohkemer (11/4), Schleusener (24/1) and Kopke (7/2).
Holstein Kiel appeared quite dominant last time against Osnabruck when they took a 1:3 victory, playing away from their home.
The guests were pretty accurate during the first part, scoring three goals, more or less, ending the match after the first forty-five minutes. The home side did manage to reduce later on in the 53rd, but their overall performance wasn’t nearly as good enough to endanger Holstein Kiel in this one.
With this 3:1 victory, Holstein is at 4th spot in the standings, having only five points less than Greuther Furth and a promotional second place.
The guests will miss goalkeeper Gelios (24/0), defensive Ignjovski (10/0), Kirkeskov (6/0), Thesker (13/0) and midfielder Muhling (25/10).

There is more with the guests
As mentioned, the guests are appearing with more confidence throughout this season, and their victory is seeming more realistic in my eyes. However, Nurnberg is currently in a positive run, having two consecutive victories, so it wouldn’t be surprising if they manage to spice this one a bit and maybe pull out a draw, still, it’s the guests who look far more potent.
