Today, in Romania second division named Liga 2, Petrolul Ploiesti (5th place) will play at home against Luceafarul Oradea (15th place).
Petrolul is an old team from Romania that has a good trophy cabinet. With other words, they are a team that has tradition. They were relegated a couple of years ago due to financial problems but now they are back and they want to come back to the first division. This year, under Leo Grozavu ( a specialist of managing teams from lower divisions ), the team is playing very good at home , their record being 4-1-0 (11 scored, 1 conceded). Away from home the team has problems managing only 2 wins and 3 defeats.
On the paper Petrolul is looking very good because they have players with experience that played in the first league.
Also, no injuries, so Grozavu has all the players available.
On the other side Oradea is a small team that was founded only 17 years ago. Most of their time they were in the third division, so they don’t have any tradition. They have 9 points from 10th games but most of the points came at home. Away from home, they are pretty bad with a record of 0-1-4 ( only 1 scored, and 11 conceded )
Petrolul is 5 points behind the first place and for the promotion they will have to fight against other tradition teams like U Cluj or Arges + some other good teams like Clinceni, Snagov, Pandurii, Chindia. Their objective is promotion and judging by this fact, the match against Oradea is a must win for them! They can’t afford any wrong steps.
In conclusion the key aspects are :
– Petrolul is a club with tradition that wants to promote
– Petrolul is playing very good at home
– Oradea is a small club that isn’t playing too good away from home
– A game against Oradea is a must win for Petrolul
