Rennes comes from a 1:1 draw away to Bordeaux, just three days after being eliminated from the Europa League by Arsenal. Their equalizer in Bordeaux came very late, during the added time but no doubt that they deserved thanks to an appearance in the second half. The side is now six points behind fourth Marseille.
Lyon comes from a 3:2 home victory over Montpellier. The team dominated and actually outplayed the visitors and deserved bigger margin victory, however paid the price of mistakes at the back – as many times this season. They are four points below second Lille and surely seek to get that spot, in the end, needing a win here.
Left-back Bensebaini (21/1), right back Traore (26/0), midfielder Bourigeaud (26/5) are suspended for the hosts. Injured are goalkeeper Diallo (6/0), left back Baal (2/0) and forward Siebatcheu (15/3). The guests miss left back Mendy (25/2) and midfielder Tete (10/0) due to injuries.
Rennes should be looking bit improved after the break and without European duties anymore. Lyon remains a favorite, however with a vulnerable defense they have – both teams scoring and making a very interesting game should be highly likely.
