Sheffield Utd vs Birmingham

Sheffield United met also an in-form side last Saturday afternoon when the team visited Bristol City and stood defeated with a narrow 1:0 result. The only goal was scored late into the match, in the 81st minute via Watkins.
Overall, the match was quite a balanced one with neither of the teams being too willing to attack. Guests had more of the ball possession, however, the home team was a bit luckier to get so much needed lead.
This result broke their streak of three consecutive victories (at home against Aston Villa and Norwich, plus on the road to Bolton), as they now stand at fifth position and need a victory here if the team is to keep the playoff rankings for now.

The hosts are set to play in a version of a 3-4-1-2 formation with Clarke and McGoldrick as forwards, plus Duffy as an offensive midfielder. Midfielder John Fleck could miss this one due to the injury being doubtful for now.
Birmingham, on the other side, comes from yet another game without a victory, as the side welcomed West Brom last Friday evening and stood to only a 1:1 draw. They have entered the match better and took the lead, even missing a penalty in the first halftime.
However, as the time progressed it was obvious that their visitors are more concrete and stronger side. They also didn’t do that much in attack, however, controlled the ball better and if one of the teams deserved more, that would definitely be the guests. With five draws and two defeats, for now, Birmingham shares the relegating positions for now.
Visitors are set to play in typical for a 4-4-2 formation with Jutkiewicz and Adams as forwards. Midfielder David Davis is long-term absentee, same as forward Isaac Vassell.
Sheffield United looked much more like a real team than their tonight’s opponents. Birmingham has a certain stability in their defense and aren’t looking completely poor, but are neither close to the level of the home team. If Sheffield repeats anything close to their previous home matches, they should get the victory even easier than what the odds suggest.
