Swansea got completely outplayed when they welcomed Norwich and got defeated with a 1:4 result. It’s not that they were poor, but the visiting side simply used their chanced far better with great effectivity against hosts who created almost the same number of chances. The team is now at the tenth position and with five points less than play-off zone, being in need to improve.
West Brom was a favorite in the previous round and justified it with a 1:2 victory away from home against struggling Ipswich. It wasn’t very open game, but the visitors did what was needed being very effective with the ball possession. They are now at fourth position and surely that a defeat here isn’t an option for them.
The Swans continue to miss midfielders Byers (4/0) and Carroll (12/0) most probably. Visitors can’t count at midfielder Brunt (15/0) and defender Bartley (15/1) most likely this time. Their top scorer Gayle is expected to return to starting lineup.
Swansea will need to try to react and search for a victory, not only cause of recent defeat but also because they are now off from the play-off. WBA is on a run of two wins and improvement in atmosphere puts them in a position to seek a win as well. Visitors could be closer to a victory, but my first call will be an open game, once again with both teams scoring, maybe both not only once.
