After two straight defeats for Union Berlin, the side showed better face away to Dynamo Dresden but was still held to a goalless draw, in a game where they have shown more than the opponents.
They had more of the possession, had initiative but failed to seal the goal through some of the chances they created – and they did create quite a lot. The side is now three points above fourth-placed Paderborn and needs to change the atmosphere with a victory here.
Regensburg comes from a 2:1 home victory over Bochum last weekend, despite the fact that they were back in the scoreline at the start of the second halftime.
They however quickly reverted and were into the lead only ten minutes after conceding a goal. Overall, could be said that their victory wasn’t fully deserved since the guests had a lot more of initiative overall.
Regensburg is now seven points behind Union Berlin and might approach this clash in a bit riskier way to try to get closer to the third position as completely dark horses in the race.
Neither of the teams should have fresh or important injury worries. The guests miss suspended offensive player Stolze (25/3).
– Union Berlin are undefeated in their last 8 matches against Regensburg.
It looks like the form of Union Berlin is going south recently, but I’m willing to trust them one more time. They looked better away to Dresden and have all the reason to be completely motivated for this one. It is kind of a make or break moment for them and should respond in manner.
