Verona entered bit poor period in recent weeks, as they come from a 4:2 defeat away to Brescia which was their third game without a win. Those were two defeats on the road and a point taken in a home draw against Cremonese. Verona is now sharing the sixth position being four points below direct promotion placed Pescara and surely aims more this season.
Palermo now hit good form, as the side comes from three consecutive wins having also five victories in last six matches (a draw included as well). In the most recent clash, they won 3:0 at home over Pescara, showing once again their effectivity in the attack. They lead the table with two points more than Pescara and four points more than third-placed Salernitana.
Goalkeeper Tozzo is long-term absentee, similar to central defender Bianchetti both without performing so far. Visiting side misses left back Rispoli (4/0).
With Verona wanting to improve here and get a victory and with Palermo anyway in a really good form and seeking a positive result, I can’t see anything but an open game. Both teams are trying to get back to Serie A and do have quality, so a draw won’t be a completely positive outcome for any of them – at least not from the very start of the game.
