West Ham had a very interesting and dynamic clash in the last round on the road against Wolves when they managed to record a close 2:3 victory.
They appeared almost perfect via counters scoring three after thirty-eight minutes of play but seemingly lost the momentum later on. The hosts took the initiative and reduced to 1:3 just before halftime, and with another one scored in the 68th, spiced this clash as much as possible. Luckily for West Ham, they stopped their progress, so the result remained unchanged.
The Hammers are doing quite well this season, currently being in 4th spot in the rankings, closely followed by Chelsea, which has only a point less.
Goalkeeper Randolph (2/0) is doutbful coming from an injury problem, while sidelined are central-back Ogbonna (23/2), midfielders Rice (29/1), Yarmolenko (14/0) and forward Antonio (21/7).
The Foxes failed to be more competitive in their last match at home against superior Manchester City when they suffered a loss with a 0:2 result.
The hosts managed to keep their sheet clean during the first part and were somewhat dangerous in the second, however, the Citizens appeared much sharper at the finishing, scoring over Mendy and Gabriel Jesus, leaving the home side with empty hands in this encounter.
Leicester is at 3rd place in the standings, not being in a position to compete for the title this season, but never the less are close to the second-placed Manchester Utd, which has only four points more.
The guests miss central-back Morgan (3/0), left-back Justin (23/2), and offensive midfielders Under (9/0) and Barnes (25/9). Central-back Soyuncu (16/0) is tested positive and should be out.
It smells like an open match
The situation on the table is begging to heat up, as several teams are in a position to grab the remaining three Champions League exit places. Surely these two are among them, and will definitely try to take another three in the upcoming clash.
Having the means to be dangerous to each other, a high number of goals is looking likely in my eyes, as simply there is no reason for one side to approach this clash opting for defense, giving us a decent value.
