Wolves come from a goalless draw at home against Brighton, in a game which probably meant much more to their visitors. However, must be said that the home side looked far better and created more – only goals were missing. They surely will try to bounce back with a better performance here.
Arsenal comes from quite unexpected defeat against rock-solid Crystal Palace 2:3. What was surprising, is the fact that they lost in front of own fans against a very steady and creative side that didn’t need much of the possession. The Gunners are now a point behind Chelsea and need a victory badly here in their pursuit of Champions League ticket.
Utrecht was set as a favorite away to Emmen, but have suffered 2:0 defeat conceding two goals towards the end of the first halftime. Other than that, Utrecht didn’t look that poor and actually have much more of the ball possession. The side is now three points above right placed Willem II and needs a victory badly.
Sittard clinched their 2:1 victory at home against Breda and made a decisive step towards salvation in Eredivisie. It was the first victory after four rounds, with the hosts being slightly better and deserving their win thanks to two goals from Diemers. The team is seven points above the red zone with just three rounds remaining.
Hamburger was huge favorite to get the victory over Aue at home, but the side was limited and held to a 1:1 game only last Saturday afternoon.
They had much more of the ball possession, however the side failed to be more concrete. Still, they are two points above third placed Paderborn and do remain favorites to clinch the direct promotion.
RB Leipzig took a very important victory away from home 1:2 against Gladbach in a game that probably decided their future of playing in the Champions League next season.
They simply took the lead and held back, not being in need to chase anything and managed to lower down the tempo. They are now safe having ten points more than fifth-placed Gladbach and can focus on the Cup game.
Wolfsburg comes from a 2:0 defeat away to from home against RB Leipzig, in a game where they stood early behind in the scoreline with two goals down.
The side didn’t manage to recover from then on and deserved even a bigger margin defeat. They now need to respond, being five points behind Europa League placed Hoffenheim.
Eintracht Frankfurt suffered 1:3 home loss against Augsburg, in a game which completely went wrong for them even though the side didn’t look so poor but somewhat, conceded with ease.
Their busy schedule was playing its role too, with the side winning and progressing further to the semifinals of Europa League over Benfica. After Gladbach’s defeat, the side now has a perfect chance to establish themselves further on the fourth position.
Toulouse suffered quite expected 2:1 defeat away to Montpellier, even though they didn’t look that poor on the field. Once again, the side stood passive and got deservedly defeated against more concrete side. The side is now seven points below the red zone and could benefit greatly from something in this one.
Lille comes from a morale-boosting 5:1 home victory against PSG. The visitors rotated their squad and stood playing with a man less in the 36th minute, something that completely changed the image of the game. Still, Lille got lucky a bit when the final goal difference is in question, as the Parisians weren’t that outplayed and humiliated on the field.
West Ham put up a brave fight away to Manchester United last time out, but still suffered narrow 2:1 defeat conceding a goal from the penalty kick ten minutes before the full-time whistle.
Actually, both goals they scored came from the penalty spots, while we can say that the Hammers overall did very well and weren’t outplayed in any of the aspects of the game, still, it was their third consecutive defeat in Premiership and are looking to bounce back here for sure.
After four consecutive wins and really decent performances, players of Leicester suffered a bit unexpected defeat in front of own fans against Newcastle narrowly 1:0.
Burton is really on a nice form and comes from a 3:0 win over Scunthorpe away from home in a very deserved way. They now have four victories and a draw in last five matches, but won’t be able to challenge for the playoff spot being nine points behind the sixth-placed Doncaster.
Portsmouth is in a better form now, coming from their fifth consecutive victory and chasing the direct promotional place. Most recently, they outplayed Rochdale with a 4:1 result at home, showing the dominant side from the first till the last minute. They are now two points behind second Barnsley and a victory here remains a must for them.
This match is from Bolivia, between Guabira and The Strongest. Two teams in different shape at the moment, but not so much in terms of offensive quality.
Guabira invested a lot (for this league’s conditions) in some players and further more in their youth program, and their mission is to challenge even for the title (in five years plan). It is not a bad season so far, but Strongest showed them in a direct duel that their wish is still far away. Mojica, Flores, Velasco, Montenegro and a a few more represent a soild team, and their play is not bad (also said this and stick to it)..I play them and watch them a lot so nothing new here..
Juventus wasn’t a better side but still managed to get a 1:1 draw away in the first leg and now are standing out as favorites. Their form isn’t the best perfect, coming from a 2:1 defeat away to Spal with a rotated squad, however no doubt that all of their efforts are now with the Champions League, being already almost mathematically with the new Serie A title.
Ajax was better in the first leg and might feel unlucky with a 1:1 draw, however, the side already reacted well in the previous round and no doubt that the spirits are high again in their locker-room. The team continued with impressive performances coming from a 6:2 home win over Excelsior, continuing their title race being tied up with PSV.
After a decent performance at home against Guingamp, Montpellier couldn’t do more but to suffer 1:0 defeat away to Nice. They stood early back in the scoreline, were trying hard and actually weren’t a weaker side overall, but the scoreline change never came. The side is now five points behind safely placed St Etienne.
Toulouse managed to get a narrow 1:0 victory at home over Nantes last weekend, mostly thanks to the fact that their visitors were playing with a man less since the 17th minute. They probably deserved a victory being a more concrete side but should be said that the guests tried a lot even when playing with a man less. Toulouse seems quite safe now with nine points more than play-out placed Dijon.
