Granada vs Osasuna

Granada expectedly lost to Barcelona last time out in LaLiga, with a convincing 0:4 result, playing at their home stadium.
They were not in a position to match the more quality visiting side, which had a 0:4 lead after the sixty-third minute of the match. Things to be worse, they were left with a player less since the 78th minute and their chances for at least a comforting one were diminished to zero.
Granada is positioned at 7th place in the standings, being in desperate need of a three-pointer if they want to stay in the race for a European exit.

Spezia vs Sampdoria

Spezia positively surprised in the last match against Napoli when they come with a 1:2 victory, playing away from home.
The hosts had the initiative and took the lead first in the 58th minute of the match, but the visitors responded in the best possible manner, as they leveled up from the penalty only ten minutes later.
Despite having a player less since the 77th, Spezia did manage to add another one to the scoreline in the 82nd and took this surprising victory in this encounter, as Napoli had chances but not being sharp enough with the ball possession.
They are currently at 16th spot in overall rankings, moved a bit from the danger zone with their latest result, which is only two points below.

The home side miss out goalkeeper Zoet (2/0), left-back Bastoni (9/0), and forward Galabinov (3/3) due to injuries. Suspended is defender Ismajli (4/0).

Sampdoria was able to bounce back after two consecutive defeats in Serie A, as they come with a surprising victory over Inter in the last round, defeating them with a 2:1 result, back at their home.

The visitors from Milan made a setback in the 12th minute when they missed a penalty, and as it usually goes, the hosts took the lead from the same situation in the 23rd minute. They did appear sharper with the ball in the first part and managed to effective one more time in the 38th, deservedly having a double lead after the first forty-five minutes.

Inter went all-in offensive as the match moved to the second, successfully reducing the deficit in the 65th, but failed to be sharper at the finishing for a complete comeback, maybe a bit undeservedly suffering a loss.

Sampdoria occupies 11th place on the table, quite safe from the danger zone, but not in a position to compete for European exit places.

Right-back Ferrari (5/0) is injured, as well as midfielder Silva (10/0) and forward Gabbiadini (3/0).
Both showed some improvement

As mentioned, both teams were victorious in their latest clashes, despite the odds not being in their favor, so carried with their latest achievements, I am expecting that both sides approach the upcoming match having a high expectations.

They are more than capable to be dangerous against each other, they were against far superior teams, and I expect both of them to enter this game with the offense in mind, as it’s definitely a clash during which both teams can gain something.

Beerschot Wilrijk vs Gent

Beerschot is currently having some difficulties in the Jupiler League, as they were unable to record a positive result in the last four matches played.
Last time out, they suffered yet another loss, this time on the road to St. Truiden with a minimal result. The match itself was more or less a balanced one, with both sides being pretty much equal in every game’s aspect, but the hosts proved to be a bit sharper with the ball to their feet, as they scored the only goal in this encounter in the 41st minute over Suzuki.
The visitors did try with a more aggressive approach in the second, but their attacks lacked the creativity to do something more. Beerschot is currently at play-off 7th place, but they need to improve their appearances as soon as possible if they want to stay in that race.

Oostende vs Charleroi

Oostende did their job in the last match against Leuven when they justified the role of a slight favorite and recorded a 1:2 away victory after a complete reversal.
They went on a break with a 1:0 deficit but approached more offensively as the match moved to the second and managed to level up in the 59th over Theate. They continued to put some pressure on the opponent’s defense which crumbled in the 72nd when Ngawa scored an own goal and set the final result in this encounter.
Oostende is at 10th spot in the standings, still in a race for the Europan exit places, as only a point separates them and play-off placed Kortjirk.

Rio Ave vs Portimonense

Rio Ave is struggling with their performances in Primeira, not being able to escape from a defeat in the last three matches. Last Sunday evening, they suffered a loss on the road to Ferreira with a 2:0 result.
Despite having the ball to their feet, the visitors looked passive in this encounter, not being in a position to attack more frequently. They went on a break with a 1:0 deficit, and even though appeared slightly better in the second, attacks lacked creativity. In the 56th minute, the guests conceded another one over Tanque, who was effective in the first part as well.
Rio Ave is appearing poorly this season, having only eleven points out of twelve matches, currently being at playout leading 16th spot on the table.

Nacional vs Sporting

Nacional ended their losing momentum in the last round against Tondela, defeating them with a 2:0 result, playing at their home stadium.
They took the lead already in the first minute of the match, and with a player more on the pitch since the 28th, their job in this one became much easier. They used their numerical advantage to create several decent opportunities and confirmed their victory with a goal in the 68th over Riascos.
Nacional is currently at 9th place in the overall standings, but the lineup is suitable for changes, as only two points separate them and the relegation placed Rio Ave.

Milan vs Juventus

The Rossoneri are certainly one of the contenders for the title this season, as they currently at the leading place in the standings, having one point more than their closest rival Inter.
In their latest match against newcomer Benevento, they managed to walk away with a 0:2 away victory, proving that they are more than capable to be dangerous even with a player less. They took the lead first from the penalty converted by Kessie in the 15th minute and despite numerical disadvantage since the 33rd, they added another one to the scoreboard at the beginning of the second part via Leao, while successfully keeping their sheet clean.
The hosts did miss a penalty back in 61st, a situation that could make things a bit more interesting, but overly looking, a good appearance from visitors from Milan, who did just what was needed.

Tottenham vs Brentford

Tottenham is coming to this EFL Cup semi-finals after they routinely defeated Leeds last time out at home, outplaying them with a 3:0 result.
The hosts had the ball possession disadvantage but performed quite well via counters successfully taking the double lead from the penalty executed by Kane in the 29th and over Son Heung-Min later on during the first part.
A similar play was seen in the continuation, as the home side added one more to the scoreline in the 50th over Alderweireld while being able to keep their sheet clean for the rest of the clash.
Tottenham needed this victory to boost their morale, as they were on a four matches winless streak in the Premier League, currently occupying 4th place in the overall standings.

Southampton vs Liverpool

Southampton made a minor setback in the last round at home against West Ham when they come with a 0:0 draw, despite being a slightly favored side.
They mostly had the ball to their feet in this clash but were simply too uncreative in the offensive line to be more dangerous in this encounter. The same things about the offense can be said for the visiting side, so a match without goals didn’t come as a great surprise.
Southampton is currently at 9th place on the table, competitive, at least for now, for European exit places, as they are only three points in deficit compared to Everton.

Huddersfield Town vs Reading

Huddersfield did a great job last time out at home against Blackburn when they come victorious with a 2:1 result, despite being considered as underdogs.
After a pretty passive first part when not much of the action has been seen, the hosts appeared better with the ball in the second, successfully taking the lead in the 53rd over Sarr. The visitors did manage to level up in the 86th, but Sarr showed great mood, as he was effective once again in the 90th minute and secured the victory for the home side.
Huddersfield is at 12th place in the rankings, safely positioned in the middle, but being competitive for the playoff places, at least for now.
