Serbia vs Azerbaijan

Serbia is coming to this clash after a close 0:1 victory last Saturday on the road against Luxembourg, which put them back to first place in the rankings, leaving Portugal with one point in deficit.
Serbia was a strong favorite, and definitely, a more convincing victory was expected, bet never the less, a job is done over Vlahovic who yet again proved his great potential and scored the only one in the 68th minute, bringing Serbia one step close of reaching their final goal.
They have no absentees regarding injuries, however central-back Pavlovic (13/1, Monaco) and offensive midfielder Djuricic (34/4, Sassuolo) are suspended. Defender Milenkovic (31/3, Fiorentina) is doubtful..

Luxembourg vs Serbia

Luxembourg is appearing decently for their standards during this World Cup campaign, as they are currently positioned at the 3rd spot in the rankings, still with a chance to grab a promotional second spot.
Easier said than done, as they are facing Serbia once again, and were completely outplayed in the reverse fixture in Belgrade with a convincing 4:1 result.
Historically looking, they never booked their ticket for any major tournament, and I don’t think that they have the capacity to surprise in this campaign as well.
The hosts miss defenders Malger (36/2, Swift Hesperange), da Graca (17/0, Austria Wien), and midfielders Phillipps (55/0, Wiltz 71), and Bohnert (24/1, Progres Niederkorn) compared to previous call-ups.

Republic of Ireland vs Serbia

Ireland failed to meet the expectations last time out at home against underdogs from Azerbaijan when they took only a point in a 1:1 draw.
They opened the match reserved a bit, and surprisingly, conceded in the last minutes of the first part. However, their performance was visibly better during the second, but they only managed to equalize over Duffy in the 87th minute, probably deserving a bit more here, but paid the price of general passivity at the start.
They are at the 4th spot in the standings, having only a point collected so far in the World Cup campaign.

Serbia vs Portugal

Serbia opened their World Cup campaign in the best possible manner, as they managed to get a win over them with a 3:2 result last Wednesday in Belgrade.
They had some difficulties at the start, as they conceded in the 18th minute, but managed to level up in the last minutes of the first part after a goal scored by Vlahovic. The hosts appeared much sharper at the finish when the match moved to the second, successfully scoring two more over Mitrovic in the 69th and the 75th minute, showing that they need very little to be threatening when needed.
However, they provided the Irish with a chance for a comeback when they conceded a goal in the 86th after a rookie mistake of the defense, but luckily, the guests didn’t have the strength for another one.
